'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he remembers the thrilling dying seconds of his team's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith briefly donning a supporter's spectacles following the pitch-side pile-on.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a speculative shot from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess quickly hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the home end to mark the goal, with the crowd swarming the players.

Remarkable Recovery

This sealed an incredible recovery given Swansea had found themselves down 2-0 during the second half. In the delirium, there was some collateral damage. He shared, "There was a supporter shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're people, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory earned a upcoming game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with Jamie Donley's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've given it to him for attempting the shot from that range," says Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right wing-back after they changed formation. That meant competing with Jack Grealish, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the player was among the Manchester squad who complimented the way Orient approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Athletically they are exceptional but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just perform consistently," he explains. "It feels like they always find their target and they are adept at manage and slow down a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then without warning they will just thread a ball through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It takes a strong mentality and attention just to remain competitive."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at his former club and has swiftly replicated that in Wales. At his previous team he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at Doncaster from United. Then came a temporary move at League Two Salford, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without serious challenge. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing first-team football you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that growth for both domestically and internationally, excelling for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including home and away fixtures against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, offered the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he handles the football and his knack for a killer pass.

Early Days

It has been quite the ride for the youngster from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who was raised observing his dad, his father, also a central player, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

His single match for United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they played on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was closed owing to the weather of -15C. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was cold out there," he comments, grinning. "The days leading up, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Leaving United

How hard was it to leave United, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "It was fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I knew I wasn't going to make it at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it got to the point where I believed I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually progressing again."

Life in Swansea

It is the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the young professional was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a minibus driven by club employees, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include the Portuguese player, Ronald, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to socialize with the guys but I'm aiming to be the following person to stop using the bus and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on public transport after starting his journey at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
